About the Patient Participation Group
NEWS: During January 2012 patients attending the surgery to either see a clinician or those visiting for other reasons were asked to complete a questionnaire. Patients who have signed up to the ‘Virtual Patient Participation Group’ were also emailed a copy of the questionnaire for completion.
A total of 127 questionnaires were completed and returned 63.5%
We would like to offer patients the opportunity to join our Virtual Patient Participation Group to ensure that patients are involved in decisions about the range and quality of services provided. We would very much like to ask for and ultimately act on the views of our patients.
We are then hoping to involve patients in decisions that lead to changes to the services this practice provides or commissions from other healthcare providers.
We will need your email details so that we can contact you from time to time and ask you questions about the services offered.
Frequently Asked Question
What is a virtual patient participation group?
This is a group of volunteer patients who are involved in making sure the surgery provides the services its patients need.
How often will you be contacted?
Not very often, we anticipate that we will ask you questions approximately 4 times per year.
Will the questions asked be medical or personal?
We will only ask general questions relating to the services and how well we are doing in order to identify areas of improvement.
Who will be accessing my details & replies?
Yours details will remain secure & only accessed for the purpose of this group. Your replies will remain confidential to the practice manager only. Doctors will not be informed of individual’s identities.
If I join the group, can I change my mind at a later date?
Yes, at any time you can email the practice manager to ask for your contact details to be removed from the group.
Can I recommend my family & friends to the group?
Yes, as long as they are registered patients at the practice. The more members we have the more feedback we can obtain.
If you have further questions, please ask to speak to Michelle Hartley, Practice Manager at Yorkshire Street. As this is a new venture, we welcome comments and ideas on how best to move this group forward.
