Non-urgent advice: Cardiovascular disease
Cardiovascular disease (CVD), also called heart and circulatory disease, is the general name for conditions that affect your heart or circulation. These include high blood pressure, stroke and vascular dementia.
Non-urgent advice: High Cholesterol
High cholesterol is when you have too much cholesterol in your blood. It can increase your risk of having a heart attack or stroke. Find out what the symptoms of high cholesterol are, what causes it and how to lower your cholesterol levels.
Non-urgent advice: High blood pressure
High blood pressure or hypertension is a condition where your blood pressure is always too high.
Non-urgent advice: Obesity
Excess weight, especially round your waist, can lead to fatty material building up in your arteries (these are the blood vessels that carry blood to your organs). It can also increase your risk of high blood pressure, high cholesterol and type 2 diabetes.
